Denim Fabrics were considered to be very durable yet very flexible work pants compared to jeans, which are made from a plain cotton twill textiles. Nowadays, women, men, and even children love jeans because aside from being durable, they are comfortable and stylish.

There are things you need to take into consideration besides the style when you are shopping for jeans. There are different types of denim depending on the construction. The type of construction actually refers to the way the placket, features, and waistband appear on the jeans. When you are looking at jeans, you should look at the elasticity of the jean’s waistband to see if it is inset elastic, elastic or just half-elastic. You should also be looking to see if it has a buttoned closure or a zipper.

The next thing you need to take into consideration is the color. The standard color of denim is blue. However, it can be dyed into different colors like black, beige, wheat, purple, olive, red, teal, orange and other earthy colors. You also have options as to how you want your denim to look, such as aged, pre-washed, white washed, bleached, acid washed, distressed or plain. Embellishments can also be added to the jeans, like laces, leathers or gemstones. Each company and brand has their own particular style and look. Some categorize their jeans as Silver tab, Looser Fit or Relaxed Fit.

Another thing you need to consider is the size. Measurements will be different for each style of jean. The standard measurement for a straight leg is 20 inches at both the knee and the leg bottom.

To determine the fit of the denim whether you go for a boot cut, low rise, regular or skinny jeans it should always be based on your shape and the type of shoes you are wearing. You should make sure that your jeans fit your waist so that the waistband will not cut into you. This will make you feel uncomfortable and it will deform your figure and that’s something you would not want to happen.
